Very sexy, very chisled.....Ahem! Where was I??? I still love your line-art. And the fact that you draw with ink is so cool. If I don’t have an eraser close by, I never get anything done! Lol. That’s why I have no ink works. 12 Maybe one of these days.....They definitely have that strong, warrior-like appearance about them, despite having no amour.

:-) Wayne H. Hodge replies: "Thank you so much, I’m glad you like it. I drew in pencil for a lot more years than I have in ink. But even when I used pencil I did very little erasing. If I had to erase more than two or three times I’d trash the whole drawing and start over. The thing about drawing in ink is that you get the drawing the way you want it and then you ink it in. That way you don’t have to worry about erasing. *grins*

As for them not having any armor...well, there are many tribes and cultures where the warriors don’t wear armor. Another reason for no armor is because they’re elves. If Elves are the magical beings that legends say they are they’d have no need for armor as they could protect themselves with magic.

So many people now days think of Tolken or Warcraft when it comes to elves, but the Elf legends have been around way longer than either of them. And if you go back and read about them in the old legends and see some of the drawings depicting them from back in the middle ages they were drawn naked and it says they wielded great magic.
I think that when we started drawing such creatures wearing clothes that we humanized them and took away from what they really are. I use to have a book filled with copies of drawings from the 18th century of Fairies, Elves and all manner of other magical creatures and none of them wore clothing. Some of them had hats made from leaves, flowers, or twigs, but none wore clothes. It was the religious ideology that caused artists to start drawing them wearing cute little outfits in oder to please a society that found nudity to be sinful and shameful. Not only do I not draw clothing well, it is a human trait and I hate humanizing creatures that aren’t human and have no need at all for clothes. Clothing is *so* over rated. LOL "

They are a little too naked for my taste (they could use some kind of small adornment), but otherwise, nicely done! And I agree with you, clothes are overrated. 1

:-) Wayne H. Hodge replies: "They’re a little too naked for your taste and yet you agree with me that clothes are over rated. LOL that’s funny. Anyway, I’m glad you like it.
The reason I don’t put clothes on Elves and other fantasy creatures like that is because clothes are a human trait and these creatures aren’t human so I don’t see why they’d wear clothes. ;o) "
